Focusing on HOW to advertise? Try focusing on WHAT to advertise!

So many business owners struggle with advertising decisions. And it’s no wonder! Today there are far more choices than there used to be. But the constant question remains: “How do I best reach my consumers?” and then the inevitable… “What do I tell them?”
It is actually easier to answer the second question first, because your decision will dictate your answer to the first question!

For instance, if your answer to “What do I tell them,” is something along the lines of:
o I want to tell them why I’m better than my competition.
o I want them to think of me first when they need my product or service.
o I want to remind them that I’m here, and open for business.
… then you need to run a Branding campaign, to inform your consumer.

If your answer is:
o I want to tell them about the sale I’m having this weekend.
o I want to promote a new product or service and get people excited about it!
… then you need to run a Call-To-Action campaign, to motivate your consumer.

Branding is usually done over a long period of time, marketing your business consistently. Branding focuses on the different aspects of your business and how they benefit the consumer. Call-to Action campaigns happen relatively quickly, and usually contain a time-sensitive message. A campaign such as this runs as often as possible in a shorter period of time, in order to quickly create a selling frequency.
Radio is one of the few mediums that excels at both Branding and Call-To-Action campaigns. Radio is intrusive, emotional and persuasive; it can re-direct a consumer’s needs, overcoming brand-loyalties and habitual buying behaviors that cause consumers to shop the businesses they know and like over and over again. Let’s make that YOUR business.
