CLC Manages Lodging so Disaster Responders Can Get to Work

Submitted by on May 14, 2010 – 6:32 pmNo Comment | 522 views

Reacting to floods, tornadoes, earthquakes and the Gulf Coast oil spill, Corporate Lodging Consultants (CLC) has contracted hotel rooms for more than 2,000 emergency responders supporting disaster areas across the U.S. so far this month.

The lodging services provided by CLC’s Rapid Response emergency program are housing agency workers and crews sent for flooding relief in Tennessee and Kentucky; tornado assistance in Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi and Oklahoma; earthquake response in California; and environmental clean-up in Alabama.

“It’s been a wild two weeks of May for Mother Nature,” said Matt Rogers, Vice President of CLC Emergency Response, “but our 24-hour Rapid Response team always stands ready to move quickly on lodging requirements. The faster we can get workers in rooms, the faster they can get to work to aid disaster survivors.”

For more than a dozen years and through more than 1,675 disasters, CLC has supported the nation’s disaster response community with comprehensive lodging, reservation and reimbursement programs.

“Through our existing contracts at thousands of hotels and our willingness to improvise lodging in dorms, schools and other ad hoc locations when demand outweighs supply, we can meet the lodging needs of those responding to nearly any manmade or natural disaster,” Rogers added.

CLC’s emergency service clients include the American Red Cross, the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), environmental restoration firms and regional utility companies.

Corporate Lodging Consultants (CLC) is a division of FleetCor, the Global Fleet Card Company. CLC has more than 30 years experience as a leading provider of lodging management programs to businesses, serving thousands of clients in North America. CLC’s clients purchase more than 9 million room nights annually across CLC’s proprietary network of thousands of hotels.
