Swingin’ Under The Stars

Return to the sounds of yesteryear on May 30, 2010, with Swingin’ Under the Stars, featuring the Hickory Jazz Orchestra.  Swingin’ Under the Stars is Hickory’s Memorial Tribute to the Big Band Era.  This popular event is held on the Flag Court of Union Square in Downtown Hickory in celebration of Memorial Day.

Brought to you by the Hickory Jazz Orchestra, the festivities will begin at 6:30 pm with the Northview Middle School Jazz Band.  Then from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm, the Hickory Jazz Orchestra will perform “big band” music for your listening and dancing enjoyment.

The event is free to the public and sponsored in part by the Hickory Downtown Development Association, the United Arts Council of Catawba County and the Olde Hickory Tap Room.

Reserved seating is available in advance for $10 by calling Hickory Downtown Development at (828) 322-1121.  Rain date is June 6.

The United Arts Council of Catawba County through the North Carolina Arts Council, with funding from the State of North Carolina and the National Endowment for the Arts, which believes that a great nation deserves great Art, supported this project.
