Jeffrey Bianchi “The Classical Guitar: From Dowland to You Tube” in Greer SC
Jeffrey Bianchi has been playing classical guitar for 18 years. It is his passion and it is something that just comes naturally to him. He started playing guitar in his teens at cafés and weddings. He is a graduate of State University of New York at Fredonia and has won many awards and has performed at many amazing venues, including the Ithaca Guitar Festival. Jeffrey lives in Atlanta and his goal now is to spread his music to a much wider audience. Jeffrey’s program focuses on teaching the general public, who might not know about classical guitar, its rich history from 17th century England to present day.
Along with teaching the history of classical guitar, Jeffrey will perform a piece of music from each specific period. The program is appropriate for middle school students and up. It will cover such periods as the Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, 20th Century and beyond.
Following the educational program, will be a concert which is appropriate for all ages. The event is a well praised and many people leave the event with a new knowledge and love for the classical guitar. The program will be on July 21st, 2010 at 7pm in The Davenport in Greer.
