“The plants and bulbs at this year’s sales have been selected by the horticulturists at Riverbanks as plants that will thrive in our climate, eliminating the guesswork for gardeners,” said Andy Cabe, director of Riverbanks Botanical Garden.

Fall Plant Sale

The Fall Plant Sale will take place on Saturday, October 10, from 9am to noon at the Riverbanks Botanical Garden Growing Center. The sale will feature more than 40 varieties of plants including, trees, shrubs, perennials and ornamental grasses. These garden staples should be planted now to lay the foundation for your spring garden. Admission to the sale is free for those who enter through the gate at 1201 Seminole Drive in West Columbia.

Fall Bulb Sale

The second opportunity to properly prep for spring will come in November at the Fall Bulb Sale. The sale will be held on Saturday, November 7, from 9am to noon. Riverbanks will offer a wide variety of bulbs that gardeners won’t find at the average nursery. With 10 never-before-offered bulbs, this sale is sure to delight. Two new tulips being offered are Tulipa ‘Blueberry Ripple’ and Tulipa ‘Black Hero.’

For the best bulb selection, shop early and order your bulbs online at www.riverbanks.org. Bulbs can be shipped directly to you or you can save money and packaging by picking up your advance order on the day of the sale. If you prefer to shop in person, the sale will be held in the Bog Garden Plaza at the West Columbia entrance.
