Don’t Weight
By Jon Eckert
Obesity is a huge problem in the United States. With fast food, larger meal portions, and increasing laziness, Americans are becoming fatter and fatter. Being a big guy, I understand the struggle to shave off pounds and keep them off.
It’s far from easy and for some it’s not just quantity and quality of food, their metabolism works against them as well.
However, all hope is not lost, especially for a good friend of mine: “Big Jon” Evans. Jon recently started a “healthy living” campaign and so far has been pretty successful. This non-diet (Jon doesn’t want to diet, he wants to completely change his lifestyle) is special because Jon decided to video document his journey at his website www.dontweight.us. It takes a lot of guts to pull off something like this because (as Jon would tell you), the road is often rough. As viewers, we get to see the ins and outs of transforming a lifestyle. This project is the ultimate accountability. Each evening, Jon posts a video in which he chronicles his day’s successes and failures. He is ecstatic that he had time and energy to work out twice that day, but admits he ate one too many wings at lunch. He is always excited, donning crazy hats and funny pairs of glasses, while he starts off each episode with a healthy “tip of the day”. Once a week, on Weigh-In Wednesday, Jon gets on the scale and announces his weight loss for that week.
Don’t Weight is an inspirational (not to mention funny) video blog that keeps you coming back. If you haven’t yet checked it out, go to www.dontweight.us, start from the first episode and catch up. You won’t regret it!
**NOTE: Look at Jon in the very first episode, then check him out in his latest. There’s a very noticeable difference.
