The Tenth Annual Blues & Burritos will held on Friday, September 17, 2010. Classical guitarist Peter Fletcher is on tour from New York City and is making a concert stop in Hickory. The recording artist and concert performer will offer his interpretations of Bach, Albéniz, Ravel, Grieg and more on Thursday, Sept. 16th at 7:00 p.m. The free concert will be held at Patrick Beaver Memorial Library, located at 375 3rd Street NE on the SALT Block in Hickory. Hickory will rock on July 9, 2010 when Hickory Alive! returns with the eighties sounds of Blindvision. Blindvision features Teal Devlin drums, lead vocals, Danny Fire, bass, vocals, Pete Amisano, lead guitar vocals, Bob Beck, Guitar, vocals and Tonya Johnson, keyboard, vocals. As of last Fall, Brett’s Ride is one of only eight entities that comprise a partnership called the “Carolinas Kids Cancer Research Coalition”. This Coalition will help fund certain clinical trials by the Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Center at Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte. These clinical trials will offer experimental drugs to children who have cancers that recur after initial treatment fails.
