Mardi Gras Tybee Island – Fantasy Masquerade Ball, Parade and Street Party
There’s no need to travel all the way to the Big Easy when on February 12th and 13th Tybeefest is presenting the 2nd Annual Mardi Gras Tybee celebration on Tybee Island, Georgia. Tybee is a natural setting for the Mardi Gras event due to its unique character and fun-loving residents.
Mardi Gras Tybee will include a Fantasy Masquerade Ball on Friday, February 12th at 8pm hosted by Fannies on the Beach. The King and Queen of the event will be chosen at the Fantasy Masquerade Ball by costume contest. On Saturday, enjoy the Mardi Gras Street Party from Noon – 7p on Tybrisa Street featuring live entertainment by the Jeff Beasley Band, All American All Star Dixieland Review and Brad Randell and the Zydeco Ballers. The Mardi Gras Tybee parade will take place at 3pm and run down Butler Avenue.
Admission to the street party and parade are free. Tickets for the Fantasy Masquerade Ball are $20 in advance and $25 at the door, call Fannie’s on the Beach at 912-786-6109. King Cake Parties will take place in the weeks leading up to the Mardi Gras Tybee weekend festivities.
