Greer Idol is down to 7 contestants.

The 7 Greer Idol contestants moving forward to this Friday’s competition are:

Contestants move forward based on the combined scores of the judges and the online voting at www.greeridol.com. Fans could vote from Midnight on Friday until noon on Monday.

The Greer Idol competition is held during Tunes on Trade each Friday night.

When the band takes a break, Greer Idol takes the stage. The Greer Idol competition will begin with 12 contestants.

Week 1) 12 performers- voting off 3

Week 2 ) 9 performers-voting off 2

Week 3) 7 performers- voting off 2

Week 4) 5 performers- voting off 2

Week 5) 3 performers- voting off 1

Week 6) 2 performers- voting will take place at Tunes on Trade only for this last vote. You must be present to vote. Each vote will cost one dollar and only one vote per person. All procedures go to the Greer Cultural Arts council.

The winner will receive a $1500.00 cash prize and the honor of being named “Greer Idol”. A Kids Zone is set up for children, complete with inflatable jumpers and other fun activities. Besides the shops and restaurants available in downtown Greer, Refreshments will be available from Moe’s, Chick-fil-a, and Bruester’s Ice Cream, Pepsi and Budweiser.

The Blue Star Mothers of America, Greenville Upstate Chapter, a service organization, who are mothers of Active Duty Military men and women or have children who have served in the military in the past are providing volunteers and collecting tips and use all the money to provide comfort items and postage for the military.

This Friday night, Band of Gold takes the stage during Tunes on Trade. Band of Gold will perform from 7-9pm with Greer Idol at intermission. Tunes n Trade is a free summer music concert series sponsored by the city of Greer and hosted by the Greer Cultural Arts council. Bring your lawn chairs and come for some great music and dancing.
