Jacksonville Beach Summer Jazz Concert Series

The City of Jacksonville Beach is proud to present the 9th Annual Summer Jazz Series. Enjoy the combination of exciting music performed by national recording artists, the caress of cool sea breezes, and the rhythm of the ocean. Admission is free and open to the public. Bring your blankets or lawn chairs and enjoy refreshments and food available for purchase from local vendors. Entertainment begins at 5 p.m.

Top women tennis players and rising stars compete in MPS Group Women’s Tennis Championships, part of the worldwide Sony Ericsson WTA Tour. The Tour consists of more than 2,000 players representing 90 nations competing for $70.8 million in prize money at 60 events in 34 countries. Sawgrass Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach hosts this revered tennis tournament in its second year April 5-11. Defending champion, Caroline Wozniacki, has committed to play in the tournament again this year.

The Jacksonville Public Library Foundation has launched an online poll giving literary enthusiasts the opportunity to choose the writer appearing at the Breakfast with an Author on Feb. 27, 2010, during Much Ado About Books. The three authors that could be chosen for the intimate breakfast are Chris Bohjalian, Tori Murden McClure and Katherine Hall Page.
