A retinol creamis a vitamin A cream that helps exfoliate skin. It speeds up the skin cells turn over, which helps remove dead skin and keep pores unclogged. Clogged pores is what causes black heads and white heads.

What is Retinol Cream Used For

The main uses for retinol cream are in Acne treatment creams and skin care. Because of the high vitamin A content it is very good for skin.

All sources of vitamin A can provide retinol, but retinoids are found naturally in some foods that come from animals. Each of the following contains at least 0.15 mg of retinoids per 1.75–7 oz (50–200 g):

  • Cod liver oil
  • Butter, Margarine
  • Liver (beef, pork, chicken, turkey, fish)
  • Eggs
  • Cheese, Milk

Most retinol creams are used for moisturizers. The products are marketed with the promise of making the consumer look younger by reducing visible wrinkles, expression lines, blemishes, pigmentation changes, discolorations and other environmentally (sun) related conditions of the skin.
